Jake Leitner

Coach/Instructor

Originally from Bemidji, Minnesota, Jake developed his passion for hockey playing for the Bemidji Lumberjacks throughout his youth and high school years. As team captain, he led the Lumberjacks to their first Minnesota State Tournament appearance in nearly three decades.

After high school, Jake went on to play in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the Aberdeen Wings and Bismarck Bobcats, along with a brief stint in the USHL with the Des Moines Buccaneers. Following multiple surgeries, he transitioned from playing to coaching—bringing the same grit and leadership to the bench.

As head coach, Jake led Team Wyoming 14UAA to back-to-back third-place finishes at the USA Hockey National Championships. He later served as an assistant coach for the Kenai River Brown Bears in the NAHL, helping the team reach a franchise-best regular season and secure a playoff berth.

Jake now lives in Jackson, Wyoming, where he continues to stay connected to the game as a member of the Jackson Hole Moose.
